Back in Malaysia and picking on delicate, fond memories

a cramp kitchen in the slum

I’m back in Malaysia. Finally. Though it feels a bit odd at times, these past three days. Going through my notes and photos of my travel, Bangkok and Narathiwat. Quite a mess, and wishing I had an assistant to help me sort out the puzzle and missing pages. An old school traveller like me rely on a combination of memory and notes, and that occasional trustworthy camera on my BlackBerry.

This picture was taken a few weeks back in an odd part of Bangkok, a slum near a river. Caught my eye, sending me back to good memories of my journeys. There is a Thai Muslim community, even though they were small in numbers, but quite friendly and hospitable.

The humid Malaysian night prevents me from a much-needed slumber. Don’t really mind. The annoying swarm of nasty mosquitoes keep me company, while I go through my notes and more photos.
