Read This If You’re Gutless

Living

Living in isolation. Not knowing what happens to others beyond your doorstep. Or not wanting to know. Its easier, right? Sometimes, or most times, its just easier to live in your own little world, happy to have your own little sanctuary, within your self-created confinement of tranquillity. At times, shutting your mouth, your eyes, your senses to others feels just right for you. After all, no one seems to care about your existence.

You continue, waking up ignorant to the sunrise, sipping your warm coffee, and rushing to work with a curse exploding from your lips as you manoeuvre through the traffic. You sit in your cubicle, drowning in your own work, distracted by your Facebook, clicking rapidly on the mouse. You drive back, ignoring the stars in the night sky, making mental notes of the work rituals for tomorrow.

You’re alone, sick, exhausted, living in this illusion of your own design, your little white lie of a life, doomed to repeat the same cycle over and over.

You’re as dead as corpse. You’re lifeless. You’re alone, while the chain of events erupts around you. You’re a small insignificant dot in a tide of revolution. You’ll be afloat for a while, before your apathy swallows you whole.
