Between 1-2 million Cambodians \u2013 and many thousands of foreigners \u2013 were <a href=\"http:\/\/akrockefeller.com\/blog\/killing-fields-cambodia\/\" target=\"_blank\">starved to death, tortured, or killed<\/a>, during this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zashnain.com\/2013\/07\/cambodian-genocide-souls-waiting-for.html\" target=\"_blank\">reign of terror<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>When the Vietnamese Army invaded in 1979 the S-21 prison staff fled, leaving behind thousands of written and photographic records.
