Unwell, recovering, thinking and in need of a solution

Blog

A Thai friend told me, “Travelling broadens the heart” – an odd friend indeed. Regardless of what he meant, I accepted the words of “wisdom” with a polite nod. Maybe not in my case of broadening the “heart” however it does heighten my senses to the culture of the people, in this case, living in Bangkok. The longer I stay in this massive city of contradiction, the more I am curious to feast upon the sights and sound of the other provinces.

The lack of resources and a strict almost-petrified travelling schedule, prevents me from jumping into a dodgy bus that would have taken me away from the bustling streets of Bangkok. I’m sure there will be an opportunity in a couple of months, or less, though this would depend on many factors. *Trying to make excuses*

That said, my deficiencies does not prohibit me from planning the routes and the adventures. Oh yes indeed, I am eager to set my journeys out of Bangkok.

I’m still recovering from last week’s flu, a horrible episode of self isolation, shivering to the irregular beats of my heart and the insane spasms of uncontrolled fever. Now the old-man’s cough and sore throat lingers on… hoping for some local remedy to boost my strength. Or maybe its just about time that I leave Bangkok.
