Ignorance and Bliss: Yours

Blog Justice

Ever wonder why despite the accessibility and advancement of ICT, civilisation is generally ignorant of human rights abuses, primarily when it affects the minorities?

Its puzzling, when people claim that they are not aware of a tournament of torture in a war-torn country or a terrible buffet of violation of liberty in a developed country. Its shocking that millions are still ignorant about the constant plights and untold sufferings of Africa, Latin America and Asia. Or many choose to remain ignorant of these ‘hiccups’ that affects humanity? What about the horrible atrocities of West Papua? The untold sufferings of the poor and homeless in India? The yoke of hostile occupation and abuses in Tibet? The thousands butchered every year in a frantic, greed-loving Asia?

Humanity has fucked itself, completely, with their governments at the helm of supreme power, holding on to self-professed ‘civilised’ society like a cruel master to his slaves. People, individuals, have a choice at ignorance: you can choose to be ignorant or you could choose to empower yourself with the knowledge and skills.

Ignorance would surely send you to the abyss of despair, where light is shaded, darkness is enhanced, and an assortment of blinding colours to confuse the masses. Delusions set in, the mindset is profoundly limited, and within a few months your weakened mind is absorbed into the hive of utter ignorance.

Empowerment is a much abused word. But I believe its merely and simply to have the courage and compassion to question yourself on what you have done to help those who need your help, and what you intend to do to ensure the world, YOUR world, is conducive to living a life of respect and responsibility. After you’ve questioned yourself, go aggressively ask or demand your MPs or politicians on what they are doing to make this life bearable for those who live a life of extreme hardship, living in the horrors of genocide, or discriminated simply because of your different sexuality, race, age and gender.

Look, you may think I’m rambling on and on about human rights. Well you’re fucking wrong. I’m talking about the “individuality” and its importance. Make an effort now to free yourself from your own prison of ignorance and fear.

Do it now, trust me, you’re not wasting my time, you are wasting yours.
