As we know for the past two decades, traditional forms of socialising of young people, such as family and schools, are being aggresively challenged. These new tech is bringing a uniform culture of information, pleasure and most importantly autonomy.
Questions You Need To Ask:
Are there government policies or programs that specifically address ICT and young people/children? If so, in what areas of focus?
Has research been conducted on the benefits, and drawbacks, of ICT for youth?
How do young people feel about censorship?
Are there services to assist young people in using ICT to gain employment?
Is equal access to ICT part of government policy? What about for vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities, streetkids or indigenous groups?
Have young people been involved in the planning, implementation and evaluation of such programs?
